The 203rd Recon Airplane Company ( RAC ) 1967-1970 Phu Hiep Vietnam, 17th Grp, 223rd Bat., 1st Aviation Brigade, U.S. Army. The 1st platoon was at Qui Nhon, the 2nd platoon LZ English with a section at An Khe, the 3rd platoon at company HQ Phu Hiep with a section at Tuy Hoa North. The 203rd was activated on April 12th 1967 at Fort Sill Oklahoma with an authorized strength of 33 officers 95 enlisted men and 24 01-G Cessna light observation planes ( Bird Dogs ) twenty 1951 and four 1953 model A and E's rebuilt and given a new classification of model G. The 203rd was combat operational in Vietnam Dec. 1st 1967. On 15 july 1970 the 203rd was on stand down. 1st and 2nd Platoons personnel, aircraft, and locations were assigned to the 219th Head hunters. 3rd Platoon and HQ locatons were closed.
